Research and Development

Koncentra Pistons has participated in several national and international research programs:

Moottoritekniikan teknologiaohjelma ProMotor 1999 – 2003. Joint program with companies, research institutes and universities organized and funded by Tekes – the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation. Total budget of the program was 51 M€.

The project HERCULES-B is the Phase II of the HERCULES programme, conceived in 2002 as a 7-year strategic R&D Plan, to develop the future generation of optimally efficient and clean marine diesel powerplants. The project HERCULES-B has a total budget of 25M€, a duration of 36 months and a Consortium with 32 participants and is supported by the European Commission within Framework Programme 7 for R&D.

Koncentra Pistons R & D Team has the knowledge, capability and experience and tools to meet the future challenges which next generation of engines require. Our Team is multi-skilled and master, not only design and FE-analyses, but understanding of materials and all manufacturing methods and their use.
